In celebration of Conklin's innovative design and Twain's passion for the fountain pen, the Mark Twain Crescent Filler® is now available in a new finish featuring rose gold plating over pvd black solid brass. A nice heavy weighted pen for those looking for a pen with substance.

Added to the Crescent Filler collection is this Black Rose Gold finished pen. The barrel is handmade in idyllic Florence, Italy, the fountain pens utilize Conklin’s groundbreaking original design that still works as effortlessly as it did a century ago. Each pen is engraved with Mark Twain’s signature along the band, and maintains the original Conklin spring-loaded rocker clip that was patented in 1916, which is the perfect addition to any pocket, jacket, or coat. Between the elegant finishes and nib options to complement your handwriting, this famed collection has it all.

The Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler

Advanced for its time and featuring a reliable method for filling ink, the Conklin Crescent Filler® attracted attention from many prominent figures of its time. In 1903, renowned American author and humorist, Mark Twain, became the official spokesman for the Conklin® brand.

This fountain pen is offered with your choice of a reliable, smooth-writing German-made JoWo #6 steel nib

Conklin Pens

Established in 1898, the Conklin pen company is regarded as one of the most significant and innovative American writing instrument companies in the golden era of fountain pens.

Founder Roy Conklin from Toledo, Ohio, is recognized for creating one of the world’s first self-filling fountain pens. Thanks to Conklin’s work, the design of fountain pens became more practical for public use when his patent for the first automatic filling mechanism went through in 1897.

In 1903, legendary American author Mark Twain expressed his praise, saying, ;''I prefer it to ten other fountain pens, because it carries its filler in its own stomach, and I cannot mislay even by art or intention.” Twain became the official spokesman for the Conklin Pen Company, and discovered yet another benefit to the Crescent Filler, stating, “Also, I prefer it because it is a profanity saver; it can't roll off the desk.''
